I have been intrigued with using bottle caps as a medium since seeing the work of Mr. Imagination. He embellished the bar in the House of Blues in Chicago and adorned other objects with caps.
I find it challenging to figure out how to us a 3-D object to create 2-D images without distorting the medium and using a limited color pallette.
I really like creating iconic images. I start with a picture on wood and as I work the image begins to reveal itself. It is really great fun and very satisfying.
I like the idea of using the bottle cap something that normally would be discarded to creat art. Recycling and thinking green is important in today's world. Reinventing new ways to use materials is part of the creative process. Even in art recycling is possible.
